Anonymous Routing

Cover Traffic

Cover traffic involves sending data packets that resemble normal packets but contain no meaningful content. On the HOPR network, this helps obscure real communications, enhancing privacy. Read more about cover traffic.

Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO)

HOPR Node

A HOPR node is a software instance that relays data across the HOPR network, contributing to its decentralization and privacy features. HOPR Safe

The HOPR Safe is one of the key components of the HOPR SafeStaking setup. It is a smart contract wallet where you securely deposit your HOPR tokens for staking. Read more about the HOPR Safe.

HOPR Staking Hub

HOPR Token

HOPR Wrapper

Metadata Privacy

The practice of hiding data about communication itself (such as sender, receiver, and time) to enhance privacy, which is a key goal of the HOPR network. Read more about metadata privacy.

Mixnets

The mixing of data packets in a network to prevent linking the sender and receiver is an important feature in HOPR's privacy architecture. Read more about mixnets.

Payment Channels

Payment channels are a common crypto technique to reduce on-chain transactions. Two users fund a channel, exchange transactions off-chain, and only the net balance is recorded when the channel closes. HOPR uses this method to relay messages between nodes. Read more about payment channels.

Proof of Relay

A mechanism in the HOPR protocol that ensures nodes relay data privately and securely while maintaining accountability within the network. Read more about proof of relay.

Probabilistic Payments

A payment system used in HOPR that allows microtransactions with a high degree of privacy, reducing the need for frequent, traceable on-chain transactions. Read more about probabilistic payments.

SafeStaking

The process of delegating HOPR tokens in the network to support operations such as relaying traffic and securing the network, for which nodes are rewarded. Read more about SafeStaking.

Tickets

A privacy-preserving payment mechanism in HOPR where payments are sent via probabilistic tickets rather than direct transactions. Read more about tickets.
